Maltman Avenue
The project that started it all. We transformed a tiny, narrow side yard from a no-privacy, sad strip of mulch and pavers into a wild secret garden.
Organic flagstones breakup the linear nature of the space, while Australian natives like Grevillea, Leucadendron and Hardenbergia bring some much-needed softness and verticality. We worked within HOA constraints such as the mandated fence style and color.
Before
Some additional goals of the project were to create more privacy with a taller fence and to make the many utilities here less painfully visible, while still providing access as needed. Drip irrigation was installed to help protect the home’s foundation and the grading was made more uniform.
